A) Hardware Installation

1) Connect the IDE Connector and the Power Molex from the NexStar to your hard drive (see image below).

2) Using the included screws (larger ones), screw the hard drive onto the case through the holes on the bottom of the body (see image below).

3) Hook the bottom cover in place to cover the bottom of the unit (see image below).  Repeat for top cover.

4) Using the included screws (smaller ones), secure the covers onto the case. (see image below)

5) Connect the necessary cables.  (Power, USB, Firewire (if applicable)).

6) Place the NexStar on the stand in the orientation pictured below.
Final

7) Install any necessary drivers (see Section B).

8) Connect the NexStar to your computer either through USB or Firewire (not at the same time) and turn the unit on to use.


B) Driver Installation for PC
NOTE:
No Drivers are needed for Windows ME/2000/XP operating systems.

DO NOT CONNECT THE NEXSTAR UNTIL THE NECESSARY DRIVERS ARE INSTALLED.

USB

1) Insert the included Driver's CD into your CD-Rom drive.

2) Windows should automatically start the setup program.  You can also run it by double clicking on 'Win98 USB Driver.exe' 
located in the 'Drivers' directory of the CD.

3) The InstallShield Wizard for the driver should display (see image below).  Click on 'Next' to install the driver.

4.  The setup screen should follow (see below).  Follow the on-screen directions to install the drivers.

5.  Once the drivers have been installed, reset your system before using the NexStar.


FireWire

1.  No drivers are necessary.  If the NexStar will not work, install the included Windows 98 Update file for FireWire support.


C) Driver Installation for Mac

1) The NexStar only works with Mac OS 9.0 and above.  No drivers are needed for either USB nor FireWire.
